In 2007, Carloto Magalhães made the first wine with grapes from the property. Friends joined him and Palato do Côa was born. Today there are six partners, with vineyards and a winery in Muxagata.

We like tasting our wines with food and talking them over. At the estate, lunches and dinners are also part of choosing the blends.

Schist, altitude and time.
At Quinta do Palato, the schist is veined with limestone. Altitude and the difference between day and night temperatures help preserve the grapes’ acidity through summer.

A year of work
From pruning to bottling, every stage calls for a decision. See how we tend the vines, receive the grapes and make our wines.

Storing water
In 2025, we built a reservoir at the estate. It stores water for the vines in the driest periods and for the animals.
