Ten facts.
No adjectives. Every one of these numbers can be checked in the vineyard, in the cellar or on the technical sheet.

It began with one sentence, in 2007: “You do the harvest. I’ll make the wine. If it turns out well… we’ll see.”

The first years had no winery. The wine was made at Quinta da Canameira next door — a house lent through kinship, not through walls.

The estate’s own winery came only in 2012, and it was blessed. Before that, there was a shed.

Vineyard takes 22.7 of the property’s 38 hectares. The rest is olive grove, almond trees, pasture and the reservoir.

Four hectares are old vines: over sixty years old, and forty-six varieties in the same plot — not all of them named.

The soil is veined with limestone, above pH 7.0. That is a rarity in a Douro which is almost entirely acidic and, together with altitude and the day-night temperature swing, it helps preserve the freshness of the wines.

Through the dormant season, the sheep keep down the growth between the vines — four hectares of pasture.

Every grape comes from the estate, none is ever bought. That is what keeps production normally between one hundred and one hundred and thirty thousand bottles a year.

The reservoir dates from 2025 and is the largest in Muxagata. It was not a luxury: it was an answer to summers that run dry earlier than they used to.

Every label has its own run: from the Vinha da Migalha Tinto, at three hundred and eighty bottles, to the Palato do Côa Branco, at twenty thousand.
