Palato do Côa Red Reserva

89 · Revista de Vinhos

Hand selection berry by berry and 18 months in new and second-use French oak barrels. Blackberries, pepper and cocoa; imposing structure, polished tannins and a long finish. The Alicante Bouschet gives it colour and drive.

Where it comes from

From the Quinta do Palato, in Muxagata, in the Douro Superior — schist terraces where altitude and thermal range keep the fruit fresh. From the grape varieties Touriga Nacional · Touriga Franca · Alicante Bouschet. Limited production of 9,000 bottles.
